Landing pages are integral to any digital marketing funnel.

Most of them – if not all – are built to serve one purpose.

Conversion.

Whether it’s making a sale, getting a prospect to sign up for your newsletter, or booking customers for an event that you’re hosting.

You’ll need a landing page.

But beyond just having any form to act as a landing page.

It also has to be good.

Good enough for people to say “YES!!!”

And, that’s often difficult.

But not anymore.

In today’s guide, we’ll show you how you can create copy for landing pages with ChatGPT and make the process a little easier.

Let’s begin.

The Importance of Landing Pages

Landing pages directly support your marketing campaigns.

They serve as tipping points in any of your customer journeys.

Do you want to grab their details with a lead magnet? You can use a landing page.

Do you want to nurture them with a newsletter? You can use a landing page.

Do you want them to make a decision? You get the point.

But beyond that, landing pages are very useful because you can use them to target specific audience segments.

This allows you to personalize your customer funnel and make it resonate with its specific audience thus maximizing your chances for success.

The only issue with them is their creation.

Once you’ve solved the dev work or the visual building part.

Writing the copy can prove to be a tricky task.

It needs to convert people …in the specific way that their demographic is converted.

That’s why the team over at BAMF decided we needed to fix this issue and built out a prompt to help everyone out.

The Prompt for Landing Pages with ChatGPT

I am a *what do you do* with an audience*who is your audience*, and I need to create a landing page whose purpose is *what is the purpose of your landing page.

The USP of my *what are you offering* is that *what is the USP*.

Please let the reader know *main tipping point of the landing page*.

The landing page has to capture the attention of the visitors, be visually appealing (include comprehensive visual notes), be easy to navigate, be persuasive, and should be able to convert visitors coming through.

Make sure that there is a clear call-to-action (provide me with several alternatives to choose from), it highlights the unique features of what I offer and gives them a primer as to who I am.

Keep it short and snappy.

Want to build great prompts?

Add a LOT of context.

We’re not kidding.

The more context that you provide ChatGPT, the easier it is for it to understand where you’re coming from and what the theme of its output should be.

After this, you don’t just want to tell ChatGPT what your offer is, but also the underlying purpose of the product/offer/service. When you combine this with a USP, you get copy that works to convert your specific audience.

Next, we added one more field and called it the “tipping point”. This is the one thing that will get users to opt-in, it could be the offer being something they can try for free or perhaps it being time limited.

You can remove this altogether, but you can also use it to build some urgency into the output.

Lastly, we gave it detailed instructions on what to do with the information that it has and how it can weave this into a proper landing page.

Do note that at the end you can change the prompt, and make the landing page longer.

The Output

We used the following information to populate the prompt and the results were just remarkable.

(You’ll notice that this is our favorite sample input.)

I am a LinkedIn marketer with an audience of startup founders and other digital marketers, and I need to create a landing page whose purpose is to get people to sign up with their email for a free trial of my new service, social media management.

The USP of my new service is that it allows busy professionals to have expertly managed social media accounts and that we handle lead generation.

Please let the reader know that the free trial is completely free.

Then, it goes on to allow you to choose the CTA that you like the most.

Do you know why we love this prompt so much?

If you look at it quickly you’ll notice that just by the way it’s formatted, it already looks like a landing page.

All you have to do is grab the text and arrange it into your website builder or have a dev code it for you.

But, if the copy already looks great without being ported to the landing page yet, then you know you’re pretty much set to tweak it once you copy everything out.

Takeaways

Given that ChatGPT is a language-based model, it won’t be giving you any visuals for your landing page. You’ll either have to do this manually, get some image AI tool or ask ChatGPT to give you some visual cues/notes that you will still have to manually integrate.

However, every marketer knows that the most difficult part of a landing page is getting the copy right and this prompt solves that problem.

You get copy in less than 5 minutes and it works.

Don’t forget that once you’ve generated your copy, make sure you tweak it to your standards.

Add a little more personalization and maybe, move things around a bit.
