Titles are the first thing your readers read.

They set the tone.

And if we’re being honest, they’re responsible for getting folks on your article in the first place.

Titles are not always easy to craft since they have to condense so much information in such a small space.

That’s why in today’s guide, we’ll show you how to craft better titles with ChatGPT and boost interest quickly.

Investing in Proper Titles

Let’s face it.

People judge books not only by their covers but also by their titles.

And this holds even for articles and posts that you write, be it on your blog or LinkedIn.

People will still choose to click on your content based on the title alone.

This makes your title one of the most critical aspects of your content given how much power sway it has in getting people to read your article.

If you’ve already invested in research, actionable examples, and great writing, a little investment in proper titles can go a long way.

However, crafting titles that work isn’t always an easy feat. Compared to writing the body of an article, titles involve a lot more understanding investment in understanding your audience and how they experience things.

The goal of our prompt is to allow you to come up with titles and inspiration for titles quickly and efficiently. Thus, freeing up bandwidth for you to maximize your time to work on other things.

The Prompt to Craft Better Titles with ChatGPT

Our prompt is fairly simple and follows our major BAMF rules.

I am a *what do you do* with an audience comprised of *who is your audience* and I am writing *what are you writing* about *the topic you are writing about*. I need 15 prospective SEO-optimized titles that I can use for the article that are engaging, encourage prospects to read after reading the title, and elicits emotion.

We also make sure that we identify ourselves and our audience, allowing ChatGPT enough context to craft relevant outputs.

Next, we move on to the ask itself with its own set of parameters and rules, making the output more specific to our needs and weeding out general answers. We used engagement as a basis of the prompt while also making SEO optimization a priority.

Finally, we included a good number of generated titles – 15 – but you can easily change this out to another number such as 20 or 30 if you want to get yourself plenty of prospective titles.

The Prompt in Action

We used a fairly general example on a subject that was just a little vague to showcase the power of this BAMF-generated ChatGPT prompt. Here it is:

I am a LinkedIn marketer with an audience comprised of digital marketers and business professionals, and I am writing an article about how to improve your lead-nurturing efforts using better ICPs. I need 15 prospective SEO-optimized titles that I can use for the article that are engaging, encourage prospects to read after reading the title, and elicits emotion.

These were the results we got.

As you can see from the examples, ChatGPT doesn’t just rearrange words but it can identify what these words mean. It knows that ICP isn’t just a random acronym but stands for the marketing jargon of “ideal customer profile”.

The Prompt: Part 2

If your content is ready, you can use a modified version of this prompt that goes a little like this.

I am a *what do you do* with an audience comprised of *who is your audience*. I need 15 prospective SEO-optimized titles that I can use for the article that are engaging, encourage prospects to read after reading the title, and elicits emotion. This is the article that I wrote for context: *insert article*

As you can see here, the only difference between this prompt and the first variation is that we now include the entire article you’ve written for context, thus allowing ChatGPT to make its own assumption on how to better phrase the article.

Use this method if you want to give it complete control on the specifics and context of your title.

Takeaways

Here’s the secret.

If you want to craft better titles with ChatGPT, you would still have to tweak the one you’ve chosen from your generated list to give it that human spin.

Why?

You know your audience better than AI and adding a little personalization can go a long way.

We’ve said this time and time again with all of our ChatGPT prompts.

It doesn’t matter if you have excellent prompts and outputs, you still need to go in and tweak the final results to make sure that it sounds great and contains your voice.

That’s still the best way to leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT.
