This means that there&#8217;s no way to choose and select which interests appear first. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/bamf.lovelacecreative.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/LinkedIn-Interests-Screenshot-9.png\" alt=\"Example of LinkedIn Interests on Houston Golden's LinkedIn Profile\" class=\"wp-image-32047\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, if you tend to like pages and join groups, chances are you&#8217;ll have pretty messy interests that are showcased on the bottom of your profile. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The good part is that almost no one scrolls down to the bottom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bad part? Those who are actively interested in you (including potential clients, leads and recruiters) WILL be checking out your profile thoroughly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, even if you like and follow dozens of companies, you should still pay attention to your interest and try to arrange them in a manner that best speaks to your professional branding persona. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ultimately, the interests <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ll talk about how to do that with consideration of the automation in just a second. Before that, let&#8217;s see some great examples of interests on LinkedIn profiles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-examples-\">Examples <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out the added interests on this LinkedIn profile. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/bamf.lovelacecreative.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/LinkedIn-Interests-Screenshot-7-1.png\" alt=\"Example of LinkedIn Interests \" class=\"wp-image-32049\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Simple, clear, and concise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/bamf.lovelacecreative.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/LinkedIn-Interests-Screenshot-8.png\" alt=\"Example of LinkedIn Interests on Bill Gates Profile \" class=\"wp-image-32050\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On the surface, they might seem pretty generic, but when you consider that these are the interests of the profile of Bill Gates, you start to understand just HOW specific his choices were. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Going through his list of interests, you can see just how much attention was paid to the selection of the interests he follows. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/bamf.lovelacecreative.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/LinkedIn-Interests-Screenshot-10-1.png\" alt=\"Screenshot of how Interests are Shown when you Select Them \" class=\"wp-image-32051\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The next example is from my own profile. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have hundreds of interests as I&#8217;m actively part of LinkedIn groups and follow a ton of pages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, you can still see that on almost each page refresh there&#8217;s a collection of interests that showcases who I am. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Groups within my Niche <\/li><li>Big Brands I aspire to (infamous marketing agencies) <\/li><li>Brands recognized by my ideal customers (business magazines) <\/li><li>A touch of personal showcasing that I am, after all, human, to add authenticity <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve managed to achieve that, despite the reroll and automatic refresh that happens with your LinkedIn Interests. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now I&#8217;m going to teach you how to achieve the same effect by adding the right interests to your LinkedIn profile to make it truly stand out from the crowd. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"3-managing-your-interests-on-linkedin-tips-and-steps-\">Managing your Interests on LinkedIn (Tips and Steps) <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The first thing to note is the type of interests that would expand your professional persona. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, if you are a UX designer, having &#8220;Microsoft&#8221; in your interest might not be the best choice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The same goes, if you are a Java developer, being part of the group about &#8220;Art and Design&#8221; won&#8217;t necessarily fit the persona you are trying to build. They take actions, which are easy and intuitive, into a hassle of clicks, twists, and turns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding interests to your profile on the platform is also pretty similar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s how to do it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"5-step-1-find-a-company-page-you-want-to-follow-or-a-group-you-want-to-join-\">Step 1.
