It makes more sense to close the old account and transfer the email to your new one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, now that we&#8217;ve gone through the reasons, it&#8217;s time for us to start merging!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"1-how-to-merge-linkedin-accounts-\"><strong>How to Merge LinkedIn Accounts?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before doing this, please note the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Profiles changes and edits will not be merged to your new account.<\/li><li>You won&#8217;t be able to import the endorsements that you got. You&#8217;ll need new ones.<\/li><li>Saved articles are gone forever.<\/li><li>Recommendations won&#8217;t be available.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If this is all cool with you, let&#8217;s proceed to merge LinkedIn accounts!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-step-1-determine-if-you-have-access-to-the-other-account-\"><strong>Step 1. Determine if you have access to the &#8220;other&#8221; account<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Try to log in to the other account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;ve forgotten your password try to reset the password using your email address for that account, if this fails you&#8217;ll need to contact LinkedIn support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"3-step-2-log-in-to-the-other-account-and-cancel-your-subscriptions-\"><strong>Step 2. Log in to the other account and cancel your subscriptions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, you need to cancel your LinkedIn premium on the old account and make sure that any ad campaigns are shut down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have job postings that are ongoing cancel those as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a group that you own, you need to cancel or transfer ownership to someone else in the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You also want to take this time to check if you&#8217;re missing out on any unread mail &#8211; especially annoying with accounts you haven&#8217;t touched in a while &#8211; or connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We would advise that you download all the data that is associated with that account just in case you need to use it at a later time. There&#8217;s nothing wrong with having a backup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Think of it as your final goodbye to the old account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"4-step-3-go-to-your-main-account-and-start-the-process-\"><strong>Step 3. Go to your main account and start the process!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Log out of your old account and sign in to your new one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Head over to your account settings and go to &#8220;Account preferences&#8221; on the right-hand side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on &#8220;Account management&#8221; and you should see an option to &#8220;Merge accounts&#8221; on the main screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Verify that the account that you&#8217;re signed in on is indeed the account you want to keep. Ensure there are 100 employees on the page that&#8217;s about to be merged<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don&#8217;t, it won&#8217;t be merged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, make sure that the names of the company pages are the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"8-step-3-contact-linkedin-\"><strong>Step 3. Contact LinkedIn <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Head over to this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/help\/linkedin\/ask\/CP-primary\" class=\"rank-math-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">link<\/a> so that you can put out a request for the pages to be merged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;ll be taken to a page where you have to fill out details about the pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fill out the LinkedIn page URL and the name of the page. You need to inform visitors of that page, that the parent company now owns that page.
