Matter<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First of all, identify your theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you having a product launch? An interview? A virtual conference among industry leaders?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After you&#8217;ve determined what you\u2019re going to do it\u2019s time to pick a subject that you\u2019re going to tackle in the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are a couple of tips for picking out a good subject:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Core competency<\/strong> &#8211; pick a subject that your company has a core competency in. If you\u2019re in B2B Coaching, it doesn\u2019t really make sense if you have a webinar on cooking skills.<\/li><li><strong>Relevancy<\/strong> &#8211; your subject matter has to either be about a topic that directly affects people in the present. This makes the webinar <strong>actionable<\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>Interesting<\/strong> &#8211; for goodness sake, pick a topic that\u2019s interesting. There are a lot of webinars out there that cover the same subject-matter, although that\u2019s fine, you need to be able to put out a new spin on things.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-goals-\"><strong>Goals<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, identify your goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s your bottom line with this webinar?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Want to nurture existing leads?<\/li><li>Showcase new products to the general public?<\/li><li>Use it as the start of your lead generation by gaining more leads with the invite process?<\/li><li>Want to leverage it for brand awareness and establish yourself as an industry leader?<\/li><li>Use it for remarketing to your existing clients to cross or upsell?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This helps you tweak your subject matter to be able to meet your objectives for the webinar, and it ensures that you\u2019re using your resources well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"3-targeting-\"><strong>Targeting<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, you need to figure out who you want to target.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This should be easy if you already have target customer profiles ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/bamf.lovelacecreative.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/BAMF-Bible-Anatomy-of-an-Ideal-Customer-Profile-3.png\" alt=\"webinar checklist target customer profile\" class=\"wp-image-37546\"\/><figcaption>We know you see photos like this a lot here, but it\u2019s an important reminder for marketers to get their targeting right!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large\"><p>If you don\u2019t have target customer profiles ready, you could be in trouble. We strongly advise you to <a href=\"http:\/\/bamf.lovelacecreative.co\/creating-ideal-customer-profile-on-linkedin\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">check out our ideal customer profile guide here<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Pick out your targets well \u2013 don\u2019t worry you can use more than one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This allows you to make more adjustments to your goals and subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"4-speakers-\"><strong>Speakers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure that one of your speakers is from your organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This allows you to establish your ownership of the webinar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure that you have a shortlist of speakers at the earliest, and that you have backups just in case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How do you pick a speaker?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pick someone that won\u2019t bore an audience to death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure that you get them on a video call \u2013 especially if they haven\u2019t spoken on a webinar yet \u2013 to determine if their online demeanor suits the theme of your upcoming webinar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Start putting out feelers at the soonest. The worst thing that could happen to a webinar is missing a speaker before the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, try inviting industry leaders, they might cost you money, but they can help with promotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"5-host-\"><strong>Host<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We always advise on getting yourself an in-house host, unless you can get an actual personality to be the emcee during the webinar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You need someone that\u2019s fun and that\u2019s quick on their feet to facilitate discussion and guide the energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hold auditions if you have to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hosts are responsible for the flow, and if your webinar won\u2019t flow well, you\u2019re in heaps of trouble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"6-coordinator-\"><strong>Coordinator<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pick a lead coordinator to preside over everything, this will help simplify the chain of command and keeps things streamlined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019ll also be responsible for making sure the speakers come in on time, and that you don\u2019t have any other smaller hindrances come the day of the webinar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"7-activities-\"><strong>Activities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can\u2019t just have talking heads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, they work well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, webinars don\u2019t just limit you to speeches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can integrate activities such as games, quizzes, or quick polls to engage with your audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although this is something you should visit in detail later on in the checklist. It\u2019s good to have an idea of what you want to do now so that it\u2019s easier when it comes to timing the overall flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"8-metrics-\"><strong>Metrics<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At BAMF, we\u2019re all about tracking whether it be <a href=\"http:\/\/bamf.lovelacecreative.co\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">LinkedIn marketing campaigns<\/a> or your webinar because it helps with the creation of better things in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, as early as now, you need to be able to determine what your metrics of success are: the number of newly onboarded clients, your attendee-registrant ratio, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This helps with your goal-setting and figuring out if you\u2019ve hit your KPIs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large\"><p>Read: <a href=\"http:\/\/bamf.lovelacecreative.co\/11-things-to-do-after-a-webinar-regardless-of-the-results\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">11 Things to Do After a Webinar Regardless of the Results<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"9-webinar-specifics-checklist-\"><strong>Webinar Specifics Checklist<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"10-webinar-title-\"><strong>Webinar Title<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Think of your title the same way you think of your <a href=\"http:\/\/bamf.lovelacecreative.co\/linkedin-headline-generator-our-guide-to-writing-ones-that-convert\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">LinkedIn headline<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It needs to attract attention while giving as much information about the event as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A good way to create a webinar title is to use the semicolon format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Catchy 4-5 Word Title: Quick Summary of the Webinar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why Your Lead Generation Sucks: How Organic Campaigns Are Leading The Way&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This lets you have the best of both worlds, you get to sneak some marketing copy in to lure your prospects into reading the summary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"11-webinar-summary-\"><strong>Webinar Summary<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You need a quick blurb about the webinar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It doesn\u2019t have to be a full schedule of events, but rather a paragraph of what\u2019s to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use this in your invites and social media posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"12-webinar-date-and-time-\"><strong>Webinar Date and Time<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A good starting point is to have your webinar before or after lunchtime. Don\u2019t pick high-pressure days such as Mondays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, here\u2019s the thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take into account the time zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you can predict that most of your attendees will come in from the East Coast, you need to adjust to their time if you\u2019re coming in from PST.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This maximizes the number of people that join.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, you want to make sure that you conveniently put timezone conversions for your other attendees to plan accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>Here&#8217;s our guide on <a href=\"http:\/\/bamf.lovelacecreative.co\/when-is-the-best-day-to-have-a-webinar-hint-thursday\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/bamf.lovelacecreative.co\/when-is-the-best-day-to-have-a-webinar-hint-thursday\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">when is the best time to have a webinar<\/a>!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"13-webinar-schedule-\"><strong>Webinar Schedule<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure you plan your webinar schedule in advance, this leaves you time to make quick adjustments when necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You need to make sure that there are allowances for quick question and answer sessions, technical issues, and transitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no such thing as a perfectly orchestrated schedule. There will be speakers that will take too long, there could be interruptions and even the audience could become a factor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This also comes in handy when you do your dry run, but more on that later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"14-length-of-the-webinar-\"><strong>Length of the Webinar<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Shorter is definitely sweeter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And, the sweetest spot for a webinar is 60 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>45 minutes is also a good option, but you won\u2019t be able to integrate a lot of audience engagement if you cut it too short.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anything over 60 minutes is considered a no-no, you don\u2019t want to keep people in for more than an hour because they start to lose focus and you could experience a high dropout rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Towards the end of your webinar, you can keep people in for an afterparty or additional questions if you have to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"15-vendor-\"><strong>Vendor<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are plenty of Webinar vendors out there, and you can always use a familiar platform like Zoom if you don\u2019t want to look any further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your vendor will be dependent on how many people you\u2019re expecting in attendance and the features that you need for your event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, here\u2019s a major consideration \u2013 especially for growth hackers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You need to pick a webinar vendor that has the most intuitive UI and the easiest UX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your attendees should have an easy time getting into your webinar, not only does this help with engagement, but it also shows them that you are a company that\u2019s easy to deal with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"16-dry-run-3-days-before-the-webinar-\"><strong>Dry Run (3 Days Before the Webinar)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Conducting a dry run is critical to the success of a webinar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Think of it as a rehearsal dinner, but for your event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You want things to go over smoothly and the only way to assess that is by doing a practice session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This lets you find any technical hiccups, but more importantly, helps you find ways of improving webinar transitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this time you can take out a stopwatch and see if things are going on as timed, if they aren\u2019t this is the best time to make adjustments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Important note: make sure you clarify with the speakers that there will be a dry run, it would be best if they were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"17-webinar-marketing-campaign-checklist-\"><strong>Webinar Marketing Campaign Checklist<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"18-5-6-week-mark-\"><strong>5-6 Week Mark<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019re done with your planning and webinar specifics stage. It\u2019s time to start creating marketing materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your sixth-week mark is where you start warming up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some marketers decide to start the marketing process here, but you really don\u2019t have to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is still your preparation stage and you should be using this time to perfect your marketing materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You want the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Get an initial list of prospects ready to be marketed to, this will form your base invites.<\/li><li>Segment that list.<\/li><li>Get customer profiles ready and \u2013 if possible \u2013 plan alternate marketing campaigns for them.<\/li><li>Decide which social media outlets to use: we strongly advise LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. Instagram is also a good candidate if you need a fourth medium.<\/li><li>Pick a design theme.<\/li><li>Get headshots of all speakers.<\/li><li>Get summary of webinar ready for use with marketing materials.<\/li><li>Get important details such as time\/date, etc. ready for integration.<\/li><li>Start creating templates for social media posts.<\/li><li>Start designing the landing page for registrants.<\/li><li>Initial email drafts for invitations and reminders.<\/li><li>Topic selection for blog posts that cover your webinar topic so that you can use them to link to your upcoming event.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This should take you about one or two weeks to get ready.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reason you need to get this ready at this point is to make sure that everything is ready for launch and that you have an easier time moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Webinars can get hectic as they approach the date, so getting all of this stuff out of the way is great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"19-4-week-mark-\"><strong>4 Week Mark<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Preregistration <\/strong>\u2013 this is the part where you can offer freebies to early birds or give them discounts if you\u2019re having a paid webinar.<\/li><li><strong>Landing Page <\/strong>&#8211; has to be ready for preregistration to start, you need the link to the landing page so that you can start sending out invitations.<\/li><li><strong>Social Media Syndication<\/strong> &#8211; teaser posts should be released by this time.<\/li><li><strong>Start Sending Out Emails<\/strong> &#8211; make sure you start the preregistration process by emailing your current list of prospects. You can include your current clients as well. This allows you to have a base of participants to make sure you have people coming to your event.<\/li><li><strong>Blog Post Coverag<\/strong>e &#8211; make sure that you have a couple of articles that deal with the subject matter ready to add a little background to the webinar.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"20-2-week-mark-\"><strong>2 Week Mark<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Registration <\/strong>&#8211; it\u2019s time to inform everyone that\u2019s preregistered that the event is two weeks away. You can send RSVPs at this point. This is also where you should start intensifying your marketing.<\/li><li><strong>Social Media Posts <\/strong>&#8211; start targeting specific demographics with your posts regarding the webinar.<\/li><li><strong>Your Website <\/strong>&#8211; add a banner or sticky to your website promoting the webinar.<\/li><li><strong>Direct Messages<\/strong> &#8211; if you\u2019re on LinkedIn and Facebook, you can start with a more direct campaign of asking people if they\u2019re interested in joining your webinar.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"21-1-week-mark-\"><strong>1 Week Mark<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Social Media Posts <\/strong>&#8211; You can start integrating a countdown of the days to come before the webinar and offer sneak peeks of what\u2019s to come.
