Is it possible to get 13,000 messenger subscribers in just three months? Yes, it is!<\/strong>\u00a0It took me a year to get 1,000 subscribers.It took me a year to get 1,000 subscribers. And It took me another three months to get 14,000. For the second, I applied a framework to leverage content that gets subscribers. Over the same three months, we used it to drive over a thousand website leads. This is not any framework \u2013 it\u2019s a repeatable framework. It means that you can use it to get the same results. Here\u2019s how you can set it up:<\/p>\n

1. Put the Right People in Your Network<\/strong><\/h3>\n

When producing content, you need an audience.\u00a0It starts with optimizing your profile for a high add-back rate.\u00a0You can find instructions on how to do so in our book,\u00a0LinkedIn Influencer<\/a>.\u00a0Next, you want to skip over the pain of manually connecting to people who\u2019d be interested in\u00a0your content. Tools like\u00a0Linked Helper<\/a>\u00a0and a custom Facebook auto adder will automate this for you.\u00a0For Linked Helper, you can connect to a couple of hundred people a day on LinkedIn if you have a Sales Navigator account.\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0You can get granular \u2013 searching by job title, company, or keywords in their profile.\u00a0The next tool is a Facebook auto added.\u00a0You need to outsource it.\u00a0The good news is it only costs a couple hundred dollars to do so via\u00a0Upwork<\/a>.\u00a0Next, you upload a list of Facebook profile URLs, then it sends out friend requests.\u00a0I recommend sending 150 friend requests every day.\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0To get Facebook URLs, there are three ways:<\/p>\n

  1. You can extract members from a Facebook Group<\/li>\n
  2. Extract friends from Facebook profiles<\/li>\n
  3. Export a custom list from Crunchbase<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    For the first two, you can use\u00a0Grouply<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0Scrapely.<\/a><\/strong><\/h5>\n

    For the third, you need a Crunchbase account. I prefer this method because it provides the highest quality Facebook URLs of influencers, and there\u2019s a lot less data to sort through.\u00a0Once you have your LinkedIn and Facebook automation set up \u2013 you\u2019re adding hundreds of relevant people to your audience every day.\u00a0It\u2019s time to nurture them with content.<\/p>\n

    2. Create an Audience with High-Value Statuses<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Let\u2019s pretend you have zero subscribers.\u00a0All you have are new connections.\u00a0To build rapport with these new connections to turn them into subscribers, you need to write statuses that pull their attention.\u00a0To help, I wrote an\u00a0entire guide on how to stylize your statuses<\/a>\u00a0for engagement.\u00a0This guide helped me get over 100 million views on my content.\u00a0Here\u2019s an example status:\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0You should aim to write an engaging status a couple of times a day.\u00a0Post it on your LinkedIn profile, personal Facebook, and your Facebook Group, too.\u00a0This brings me to my next point: You need a Facebook Group.\u00a0There are four ways to drive traffic to a Facebook Group.<\/p>\n

    1. Emailing people after an in-person event<\/li>\n
    2. Inviting your existing Facebook network<\/li>\n
    3. Emailing your LinkedIn connections<\/li>\n
    4. Cold emailing targeted people<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Once you have a Facebook Group, it\u2019s important you establish yourself as an authority.\u00a0This happens by producing ridiculously helpful and original industry content.\u00a0This comes mostly in form of step-by-step tutorials.\u00a0Ideally, you should produce 1 \u2013 2 of these pieces every week.\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0This tutorial gets tons of engagement.\u00a0And I don\u2019t even put a lead magnet on it \u2013 it\u2019s pure value.\u00a0I also include it in a Google Doc so people can add it to their drive in a couple seconds.<\/p>\n

      Use LinkedIn for distribution<\/b><\/h5>\n

      I repurpose each one of these tutorials for my company blog and LinkedIn Pulse:\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0The best part about these how-to articles is they drive traffic back to your website.\u00a0Never give them all the tips on your LinkedIn Pulse.\u00a0Leave the last few on the full-written piece on your blog.\u00a0\"BAMF<\/p>\n

      Create credibility, connections, and addictive loops<\/b><\/h5>\n

      With enough guides, you can create a drive folder like this one below.\u00a0This is a powerful way to establish your credibility.\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0It\u2019s not all about posting value.\u00a0It\u2019s about giving people the opportunity to create their own.\u00a0In the status below, I present the opportunity for people to connect with each other.\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0If you post enough valuable industry content, you will create an audience who will buy from you.\u00a0When they see the Facebook or LinkedIn notification that you posted \u2013 they\u2019ll click it.\u00a0Then they\u2019ll like, comment, and share.\u00a0Before they even read it.\u00a0Because they know you post valuable content consistently.<\/p>\n

      3. Leverage Traffic into High-Value Weekly Content<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      You finished the hard part.\u00a0It\u2019s time to leverage this engaged audience into your initial subscriber base.\u00a0This will take a few posts \u2013 that\u2019s it.\u00a0Here\u2019s an example LinkedIn post that leads to an option to get notified of my book release.\u00a0You can copy it \u2013 then do the same.\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0Here\u2019s another example post of me asking people to join my Messenger to get viral post templates.\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0With several more posts, I hit a subscriber base of 1,000 people.\u00a0This initial amount gave me the momentum I needed to leverage another 13,000.\u00a0To keep the list the active, I distribute my weekly tutorials via Messenger every week.\u00a0In particular, I link them straight to the blog posts on our website.\u00a0You can see the weekly spikes in website traffic from the Messenger blasts:\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0This is what a Messenger message looks like on mobile:\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0It\u2019s just like a normal text.\u00a0The difference is I see over an eighty percent open rate \u2013 that\u2019s insane.\u00a0The\u00a0average email open rate<\/a>\u00a0is 24.71%.\u00a0And the average click-through rate is 4.19%.\u00a0We\u2019re seeing 4X those numbers.\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0For a Messenger blast, keep the message short and sweet.\u00a0People don\u2019t like reading long texts.<\/p>\n

      Be consistent.<\/b><\/h5>\n

      I send out my Messenger blast every week.\u00a0I haven\u2019t skipped one yet.\u00a0Because consistency makes you memorable.\u00a0It\u2019s the one skill most people lack with content creation.<\/p>\n

      4. Leverage Your Audience for Virality<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      Congrats.\u00a0When you post on social media, you get engagement.\u00a0And when you send out a Messenger blast, people respond.\u00a0\u00a0It\u2019s time to leverage this base into more subscribers at scale.<\/p>\n

      How?<\/i><\/strong><\/h5>\n

      Viral platforms.\u00a0In this example, we use Product Hunt.\u00a0However, it could also be sites like Reddit.\u00a0As long as the site promotes content with momentum, then you have an opportunity to shine.\u00a0Not just any promotion, but if your content does well then thousands \u2013 or even hundreds of thousands \u2013 will see it.\u00a0First, study the platform.<\/p>\n

      What do they like that\u2019s inexpensive?\u00a0<\/i>And what do they like enough to exchange an email for?<\/i><\/strong><\/h5>\n

      For our industry (marketing and entrepreneurship), they want books about growth hacking. I went ahead and pieced together a 300+ page book about growth hacking. Submitted it to Product Hunt. Followed the Product Hunt launch formula.\u00a0Then received over 8,000 new subscribers.\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0Then I repeated it a month later with a new growth hacking book.\u00a0And I received another 4,000 subscribers.\u00a0By then, I\u2019d also done more giveaways resulting in 14,000 subscribers.\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0Whenever we release a tutorial, we\u2019re no longer promoting it to the 1,000-person list.\u00a0We\u2019re hitting 14,000 people.\u00a0That\u2019s powerful.\u00a0Because we include opt-ins on all our blog posts and around our site, this wave of direct traffic from Messenger will generate organic traffic via direct referrals, sharing, and better SEO.\u00a0Direct referrals: People sending the blog post link to friends via Messenger and email\u00a0Sharing: Sharing the post on Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter\u00a0SEO: Increased backlinks, ranking on Google over time.\u00a0Here\u2019s an opt-in I use on my personal website.\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0This led to over 3,000 new subscribers!\u00a0\"BAMF\u00a0You never know where they\u2019re coming from.\u00a0The next step is to do one viral release every month on the right platform.\u00a0Even though I release books, it doesn\u2019t mean you need to do the same.\u00a0You can use physical products or services.\u00a0It\u2019s up to you to find out what your audience wants.\u00a0Then innovating with a unique twist.\u00a0Let\u2019s add some fuel to your content machine.<\/p>\n

      5. Create Content Faster<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      To keep an audience excited, you need to realize one thing:\u00a0You\u2019re competing for attention.\u00a0Not only against people who sell the same product.\u00a0But the reason they should read your LinkedIn status over visiting their Facebook News Feed.\u00a0If you want to create an audience, you\u2019ll need to produce valuable content often.\u00a0I\u2019d set these numbers as your monthly metrics:<\/p>\n
