Ah Twitter/X/Threads threads!
Wait, I mean X’s threads and Threads’s threads.
(Okay, we know it might sound confusing given that Twitter is now X, and Meta literally named their foray into the “Twitter-esque” space: Threads.)
What we’ll be discussing today are the threaded posts that we see on X and Threads, and for brevity, we’re just going to call them threads.
We all know they work.
And we all know they help keep your prospects on your posts for longer.
However, creating them isn’t exactly a walk in the park, and that’s what we’ll be examining today. With our threads AI prompt you’ll be able to create threads that convert in minutes, and we’re giving you the prompt absolutely free!
So without further confusion adieu, let’s do this!
The Power of X Threads (and Threads, threads[?])
People love threads because of one main reason:
It’s a story!
And, we all know that one of the best ways to get and retain people’s attention is through narratives.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a presentation, ads, or even posts. People love checking out narratives.
It appeals to basic human communication; when people engage with each other they tell stories, and that’s why leveraging threads – which are essentially stories – can do amazing things not just for lead magnets but for your funnels as a whole.
However, being able to properly structure a thread on Threads or X isn’t easy. There’s a lot of copywriting and platform rules at play, and on top of that, you also need to have a fundamental understanding of your audience.
This is the reason we decided to build a threads AI prompt

X and Threads threads AI Prompt
We structured this prompt to generate multiple threaded posts on X or Threads to ensure you have a variety to choose from. Apart from multiple areas for you to include notes, we’ve also ensured that it’s structured in a way that allows you to generate emotion in every thread.
It’s a pretty comprehensive prompt and it should cover everything you could possibly need.
I want to generate a number of high-engagement X (yes, like the old Twitter and Meta’s current Threads app) threads that resonate with [your target audience] and position [your brand/personal profile] as an established thought leader. These threads should be strategically crafted to drive engagement, spark discussions, and strengthen connections with readers or potential prospects while ensuring they are shareable, scroll-stopping, and easy to consume.
A well-crafted Twitter/X thread is not just a sequence of tweets—it should feel like a high-value content journey. Each tweet should add value, maintain curiosity, and encourage interaction. The first tweet must instantly hook the audience with a bold claim, surprising insight, or relatable pain point. The middle tweets should be structured to sustain momentum, layering insights, actionable advice, or storytelling to maximize engagement. The final tweet should leave a strong impact, whether through a CTA, a thought-provoking takeaway, or an invitation for discussion that nudges the reader to interact with our brand.
Kindly generate [number] Twitter/X threads tailored for [your industry, niche, or expertise]. Each thread should have:
• A compelling, curiosity-driven opening tweet that hooks the audience.
• A structured, engaging progression that keeps users scrolling.
• Clear, high-value insights that offer practical takeaways, frameworks, or storytelling.
• A powerful conclusion or CTA that encourages engagement (likes, retweets, replies).
Key Parameters:
• Topics/Niches: [Insert topics—growth hacking, AI, productivity, industry trends, etc.]
• Target Audience: [Who are you speaking to—founders, marketers, developers, executives, etc.?]
• Tone & Style: [Witty, contrarian, educational, storytelling, data-driven, etc.]
• Desired Outcome: [What should readers feel, learn, or do after reading?]
• Brand Voice: [Casual, authoritative, humorous, edgy, etc.]
Each thread should feel distinct yet aligned with the brand’s expertise, offering unique angles on relevant topics while optimizing for engagement and virality. The structure should be intuitive but flexible for personalization and iteration.
Now, generate them and ensure that they are ready for posting.
The Output
For this exercise, we used OpenAI’s ChatGPT 4o version given that it’s probably one of the most popular AIs out there and it’s probably the LLM that most of us are familiar with.
We used our standard template of placeholders.

(Yes, we know that looks like a block of text, but the results are just amazing.)
I don’t want to say it, but the LLM was on fire with its outputs! I mean check out the first thread it generated for us:

The next one it generated is an amalgamation of tips and we see these types of posts from a lot of our growth hacking friends.
The reason these types of threads work is due to the immense actionable value that a reader can pick up from them in one go.

The third one focuses on cold emails, another key tool for the sample user – B2B marketers. This is another great example of how LLMs can properly convert for you if you just ensure that your prompts are on point.
We love the use of emojis right in the first post/tweet.
And it really does a good job of hooking people in.

The last one, we have to admit, took us by surprise. By just focusing on one central prompt, the LLM was able to pull another extremely relevant topic that the target audience usually struggles with.

I mean if this quick example won’t convince you of how good this prompt is, we don’t know what else will.
Taking it to the Next Level
If you’re still reading up to this point, we’re not done yet.
There are ways to make this prompt even more follow after you’re done grabbing the outputs.
Given that this is essentially content ideation, you can take this to the next level by using this prompt as a base to create other types of content to syndicate on other platforms. You can use these follow-up prompts to do just that:
- Can you adapt the [nth] thread into a [LinkedIn/Facebook/Instagram/etc] post?
- How would you expand on the [nth] thread and create a content plan around it for a week?
- What are adjacent topics we can cover with the [nth] thread?
- Help me create a blog post outline for the [nth] thread.
- How would you adapt this into my omnichannel campaign on [platforms that you use] for the entirety of this week?
- Can we turn this thread into a talking head? Give me a script and filming notes to make sure that I do not read the thread word-for-word.
If you’re not a fan of doing that, you can pick a thread and the LLM expand on it by using one of these follow-up prompts:
- Can you take the [nth] thread and help me create an image or graphic that will resonate with my target audience?
- Can you switch out the topic to [topic]?
- Can you turn this into an infographic?
Takeaways
Threaded posts are amazing whether you use them on Threads or X.
They drive engagement since users are forced to click on them to view the entire narrative, they make for a great value add to your prospects and they position you as a thought leader that’s willing to share information.
However, we shouldn’t forget one thing when working with AI.
Your human touch still matters.
We’ve tested this prompt multiple times, but you need to note that the best way to drive this forward is by injecting a little bit of the human touch.
Let me know how your threads on Threads or X go!
