And, it’s pretty great for your UX.

It gives you a quick way to showcase your main services and invite people to either connect with you or request a proposal.

In fact, LinkedIn makes it so easy for people to learn about your services as they’ve placed the section right above the fold, just after your “follow” or “connect” buttons.

Even if you’ve got CTAs everywhere, nothing beats an official LinkedIn section that allows you to transact with people strictly regarding the services that you offer.

You also get the added benefit of your services appearing on a LinkedIn search for everyone to see. That’s not to mention that they’ll also appear on the feeds of your connections. All of this is a boost if you’re launching new services to help other people.

Next, you give wary prospects an opportunity to be included in your funnel.

How to Create a LinkedIn Service Page

Creating a LinkedIn service page is relatively easy.

First of all, you want to head over to your profile page and click on the “Open to” button right under your profile.

Click on “Providing services”.

This should open a dialog box showing you how a LinkedIn service page works. Click on “Continue”.

Next, you want to add the services that you’re providing by clicking on the “+ Add services” link.

You can type in the services you want to offer – up to 10 – or you can browse from the categories below. (Stick to five or less, but more on this later.)

You have some space to talk about the services that you offer, make sure you keep this area short. You want to provide a description to link all of your services together.

Think of this as your general vision statement for what you do instead of a sales page.

After you fill out the quick description, you can choose if you’re open to providing your service in person, remotely, or both.

Make sure you click on “Allow LinkedIn members that you’re not connected with to message you for free” this opens the doors to everyone and you want that to keep your prospect list full.

Double-check the visibility section to see if everyone on the platform can see it.

Once you click on “Next”, it will take you to a preview of the services that you offer and if you’re satisfied with your description you can go ahead hit “Publish”.

Congratulations, you now have a LinkedIn service page that’s accessible in your profile!

Let’s See It In Action

Once a prospect lands on your profile and clicks on “See all details” under the “Providing services”. There’ll be a button where they can request a proposal.

Since we put in a bunch of options, your prospect will have to pick which service they are interested in.

Remember, they can only pick one.

After that, LinkedIn provides canned specifications depending on the service that’s being offered.

Take digital marketing, for example, they’ll ask your prospect what type of marketing project they’re interested in based on popular choices. Here we have options such as Advertising, Branding, Lead generation, etc.

Other standard questions coming in from LinkedIn are the size of the business and the scope of the project. This really helps you drill down what type of client is asking for your assistance.

These are great questions as business size is often one of the most critical considerations when you’re looking at target customer profiles.

Next, the prospect has to fill up the project completion dates and how they would want to work with you.

Again, these are standard questions, LinkedIn seems to be on the right track here.

Lastly, comes the only part of the questionnaire where a prospective client can ask a custom question. LinkedIn makes this a required section which is a good thing because you can at least get to know a little about the client. The minimum number of characters is 25 another good encourager for the prospect to write something substantial.

All that’s left now is for the prospect to hit “Continue” and “Send request”.

Where Do I Find My LinkedIn Service Requests?

To access your LinkedIn service requests, all you have to do is to access your profile.

From there, click on “See all details” in “Providing services”.

On the left-hand side, there will be a small menu, you want to click on “Service requests”.

This will show you a list of your requests with options to “Submit proposal” or say “No thanks” to your prospects.

Here’s a live example of the previously ingressed form from the last section, you’ll see that LinkedIn lists everything down neatly and it provides you with a rough idea of who the prospect is, and what their needs are.

The profile of the prospect will also be present and you can connect with them and speak with them directly.

If you want the best results, make sure you submit a proposal and connect with them at the same time. This way you open both formal and casual methods of communication.

Make sure you hit the checkbox on “Include a phone consultation”. This looks great on your prospect’s feed.

What Do the Proposals Look Like on the Client’s End?

The prospect will see a part of your profile – headshot and headline, and they’ll receive your message in their “My projects” section on LinkedIn.

Can You Edit the Qualificatin Questions in the LinkedIn Service Page?

Unfortunately, no.

LinkedIn automatically fills up the lead qualification question for you and there’s no way you can change them.

This sucks if you wanted something more personalized, but it does help keep everything with LinkedIn’s professional standards.

Personally, we think they should’ve given service providers more questions, but they seem to cover most of the bases.

The only downside is if say you cover a super niche that belongs in a general category. For example, in CRO in digital marketing, your prospects will have no choice but to pick the larger category.

Which Services Should I Offer?

This is a tricky one, and it’s especially difficult for growth hackers that have a lot of services under their belt.

When in doubt, only feature the ones that form your core competency.

So, you’re looking at anything from two to five.

It doesn’t matter if you can juggle 12 tasks at once, first-time visitors to your service pages might not buy into the idea that you’re great at everything.

The general perception is that experts usually stick to a couple of tasks that they’re great at, and you want to brand yourself as an expert.

Also, it doesn’t help if you put down services that are completely unrelated to one another.

For example, if you give out accounting services and say you’re great at digital marketing and motivational speaking, that could come off bad for your image.

Here’s another quick tip.

Make sure that one of your related services is a popular one.

This indicates to your prospect that you have a grasp of the general subject matter that they want to hire you from.

As with all things in LinkedIn, less is more.

Promote your Services

Now it’s time to promote your services!

You can showcase the work you’ve done in the past and create a series of posts with each dealing with a different service that you provide.

This helps you spread out the campaign and makes it easier for your followers to look at.

The worst that could happen is that you spam your connections with constant reminders of your services.

An alternative is to just leave it at one post and be quiet about it.

Getting reviews on your LinkedIn service page is a good idea. It gives you a chance to provide wary clients with social proof and it shows people that you’re active with your service.

Since you have a new service page, the only place you can get reviews is through your previous clients.

All you have to do is to head back to your profile and access the service page menu.

Go to the Reviews section and click on “Invite to review”.

This will open a new dialog box where you can pick 20 of your former clients to give you reviews.

Now don’t just stop there, if you really want this work, I’d advise that you message everyone that you want reviews from first before sending them a review invite.

Remember you only have 20 credits, and they don’t refill fast. As of this time of writing, we have 20 credits that will only refill by the end of the year – yikes.

Treat these reviews as if you were going to post them on your website, they need to have value, be written well, and be able to add trust to your reputation.
