Creating a video post is hard work.

But, what if it didn’t have to be?

In this guide, we’ll show you how you can create a video post with ChatGPT.

And, we’re not just talking about the script.

We’re talking, shot lists, resources, and even optimizations for YouTube should you wish to go down that platform.

Why?

Because we are BAMF.

The Purpose of This Prompt

This prompt can guarantee one thing, if you fill it up with the right inputs, you can get yourself a video script and plan in less than 20 seconds.

However, that’s not what it’s primarily built for.

We built it so that marketers could have a guide when creating videos for their brands.

The truth is, no matter how powerful AI is, that power is multiplied if you use that alongside an actual human.

Making videos is creative work and that’s why we can’t fully depend on AI to do it for us.

When using this prompt, we highly advise that you tweak it before you enter the prompt, but that you also add your own personal flair to the output.

That’s the only way you can push it to the max.

Create a Video Post with ChatGPT With This Prompt

This is one of our heavy prompts at BAMF, so bear with its length.

…it’s big and it’s powerful.

Here it is:

I’m a *what do you do for a living* aiming to create an engaging video and script targeting *who is your audience*. The video will be shared on *what platforms will you be using your video in*. It should be *what’s the theme of the video* while showcasing *what is your topic*. The main objective is to *the goal of the video you creating*.

The video script should:

-Last for *what is the duration of the video*

-Have an attention-grabbing statement or question related to the subject

-Mention key statistics

-Have a few fun elements *you can change this*

-Incorporate *what special elements do you want in it*

-Use US English, including idioms and colloquial language *you can change these settings out*

-Encourage viewers to like, share, and comment on the video.

For the deliverables, please provide a fully-written script in a professional format.

I will also require ideas for shot selections, a shot list, a storyboard, an engaging intro, and outro, suggestions for a few CTAs, and areas in the video where I can add the CTAs, resources, and materials I need to shoot this video, ideas for filming locations, a list of resources I need, ideas for a thumbnail or preview image, a list of optimizations (such as a title, description, etc.) if I were going to publish it on YouTube. Make lists whenever necessary.

Let’s break it down a little more for you.

We start off the prompt with an introduction of who you are, what your audience is, your goals, and what your video is about. This deals with the meat of video production. By providing ChatGPT with this context, you can make sure that everything is aligned with your needs from the beginning.

The next part deals with the specifics and limitations of the video.

Here we’ve added elements you can modify, the length of the video, and engagement specifics. You want to tweak this to make sure that it aligns the theme with the subjects you would want to cover.

The last part deals with the deliverables.

And this is where it gets interesting.

We chose to isolate the script so that you can literally print it out and have someone read it, get you a shot list that you can give to the person in charge of the camera, and a different section for resources so you know what you should be getting ready, whether physically or digitally.

For CTAs, we chose to have ChatGPT generate us multiple CTAs that can be used in different sections of the script, where it would be optimal to have CTAs.

Finally, we added a YouTube optimization section.

Why?

If you choose to host on YouTube, you don’t have to write a different prompt to optimize your video, it’s already available automatically.

The Prompt in Action

For our example, we used the prompt using these details.

We went for something a little generic for this demonstration but it can work with almost any subject matter.

You’ll find the output below the prompt that we used.

I’m a digital marketing professional aiming to create an engaging video and script targeting founders, startup owners, and digital marketers. The video will be shared on LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube. It should be fun, casual, and captivating while showcasing how LinkedIn can help build robust networks. The main objective is to encourage viewers to sign up for our digital marketing agency.

The video script should:

-Last for a minute and a half

-Have an attention-grabbing statement or question related to the subject

-Mention key statistics

-Have a few fun elements

-Incorporate humor, jokes, or witty remarks throughout the video to keep the audience entertained and engaged

-Use US English, including idioms and colloquial language

-Encourage viewers to like, share, and comment on the video.

For the deliverables, please provide a fully-written script in a professional format.

I will also require ideas for shot selections, a shot list, a storyboard, an engaging intro, and outro, suggestions for a few CTAs, and areas in the video where I can add the CTAs, resources and materials I need to shoot this video, ideas for filming locations, a list of resources I need, ideas for a thumbnail or preview image, a list of optimizations (such as a title, description, etc.) if I were going to publish it on YouTube. Make lists whenever necessary.

After the script, we got a list of our shot selections and a draft “text storyboard”.

It also provided us with CTAs that we could use and sections where we could insert them.

Then, we have a list of materials and resources we needed. This is helpful because it lays the foundation for filming.

And finally, in case we wanted this published on YouTube, we also got optimizations ready.

Now what do you think of that for a singular prompt?

Takeaways

Of course, it’s not going to be as good as what a production company would give you, but think about it this way.

We’re talking about a tool that can only output text, but yet, when you leverage it properly, it can give you everything you need to start filming today. (We didn’t want to push it too far and ask for a filming schedule based on what we have, but as a foundational script and storyboard, this is absolutely fantastic.)

Now if you’re not satisfied with its production, you can always tweak your parameters or ask it to generate another one.

What else does it need?

It needs you.

These outputs and prompts are only as good as the final edit, and that is still dependent on you.

At BAMF, we may use these tools, but they serve only as a guide for us.

And, that’s the way you should be leveraging them in your own workflow.
