Ah, the content plan.

One of the most difficult pieces of strategic planning you’ll have to do each month (or depending on how often your organization needs it).

We don’t necessarily love doing it.

But, it’s one of the most critical pieces in your content marketing puzzle.

This is where ChatGPT comes in clutch.

In our mission to provide you with the most useful free tools, we’ve developed the ultimate prompt so that you can easily create a content plan with ChatGPT, and use it as a springboard to plenty of growth.

We’re not just talking about a plan for blog posts here.

We’re talking about planning for everything.

Let’s begin.

What Does This Prompt Do?

This prompt is designed for you to be able to build a content plan from scratch with just your keywords and the platforms that you have already built for your organization.

However, it can also act as a hyper-smart guide for you to be able to ideate new topics but also fill up any content scheduling gaps that you might currently have.

You can use our prompt as a start off point to get ideas flowing and tweak it based on any specifications you may have.

We wanted something that was double-edged.

  1. It can be used on its own
  2. It can be used as a complement to what you already have

The Ultimate Content Plan with ChatGPT: The Prompt

Beware the prompt is long.

(Because it wouldn’t be the ultimate content planning ChatGPT prompt if it wasn’t.)

I am a *what do you do* that needs to create a robust content plan for my blog and the rest of my social media platforms which are *what are your social media outlets*. My target keywords are *what are your target keywords*. The goal for the blog is to give me the best chance for ranking for long-tail keywords and LSIs that are relevant to my main keyword. The goal for the other platforms is to support the main theme of my blog which is centered around my main keywords.

Create engaging titles, descriptions of the content that I will be posting based on the title, and possible media to be included for each of the blog titles and post types for the different platforms.

It needs to be a comprehensive 4-week plan presented in table form where I can post one thing new every day from Monday to Friday. Create different tables for each of the platforms and the blog.

The prompt was built with one goal in mind.

To ensure the end-user, that ChatGPT takes care of not only the ideation part of the content strategy but also the incorporation of long-tail keywords.

We started it off with a lot of context, providing it with the seed keywords we wanted to use plus a section where you can tell ChatGPT who you are so that it can run off a theme.

It was then engineered to create a blog plan with all the other platforms supporting the blog with different topics.

Apart from titles and media types to be used – which is a timesaver when figuring out the format – we also wanted to make the output even easier for users to execute by adding a request to include descriptions of the content that it suggested we used.

The end result?

One of the most detailed planning tools you’ll ever see.

The ChatGPT Prompt in Action

We populated it with our standard sample text.

I am a digital marketing expert that needs to create a robust content plan for my blog and the rest of my social media platforms which are LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. My target keywords are “LinkedIn Marketing”, “Facebook marketing”, and “Twitter marketing”.

What you’ll get isn’t exactly the sexiest table in the world, but it’s good enough for you to drag into your existing spreadsheet or app to provide your entire content team with details.

As instructed by the prompt, ChatGPT was able to provide us with different tables for each of the platforms along with titles, descriptions, and even media types that should or could be integrated into your content.

The descriptions can come in clutch if you need to specify types of content that need to be created or if you’re having trouble figuring out ChatGPT’s ideation process.

Here is what each of the plans looks like.

(And might we just add, they look pretty robust if you ask us.)

Takeaways and Caveats with the Ultimate Content Plan with ChatGPT

The topics won’t always be the best topics.

And the reason for this is simple.

AI is still not as creative as a human.

You’re not just encouraged to go in and make your own tweaks, but we want you to do that.

This way you can add your own bits of personalization and make your content plan more engaging.

As we said earlier, using this plan on its own is pretty powerful, but going in and adding in some humanistic elements has the potential to increase the plan’s possible engagement.

All we’re trying to say here is that don’t let AI do all the work.

Go in and give it your own spin.

Not only will you fall in love with the content that you will be producing, but so will your viewers.
