Repurposed content is powerful.

They allow you to multiply the power of a single piece of content by creating derivatives that you can use on other platforms.

However, sometimes they might be a little complicated to pull off.

In this guide, we take a look at how to repurpose content using ChatGPT and we’ll include the five different prompts that we use. By the end of this, you can take each piece of content that you write and multiply it by 5 (or more – If you’re feeling creative!)

What’s the Purpose of Repurposing?

If all the content on each platform that your brand is on was written individually, originally, and not derived from any source it would take a LOT of resources.

We’re talking about a team of writers and marketers that constantly put out content – compounded with the frequency of posting.

On most days that can be a terribly inefficient use of time, especially if you are first starting out.

The trick here is to try to derive multiple types of content from a single piece.

Hence, repurposed content.

You can take an existing article and turn it into something else, while at the same keeping towards the general topic and reusing the context.

However, it’s not just for new articles or posts.

You know that article you wrote a couple of months back that’s really, really good?

It might not be up for a refresh just yet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t continue to bank on its popularity.

Turn that baby into a video, maybe a presentation even!

The possibilities are not necessarily endless, but it gives you a lot to work with.

Our Sample Article

Since we’ll be learning how to repurpose content using ChatGPT, we need a piece of content to work with. We thought it would be fitting to use something generated by the AI.

So this is the piece we will be using today.

There’s nothing special about it, and it seems like one of your ordinary blog posts on the benefits of “LinkedIn optimization”, but in order to underscore the power of ChatGPT, we needed something plain and ordinary.

Now that’s out of the way, let’s begin.

Important Note

We stripped the title, “Introduction:”, and “Conclusion:” from the piece to make the prompt easier for ChatGPT to understand.

Yes, we’re very nice to the AI.

Repurposed Content Idea 1: Newsletters

One of our favorite ways to repurpose content is by turning it into newsletters. All you have to do is combine our prompt, with an existing article that you already have.

Here’s the prompt:

I am a *what do you do for a living* and I need to repurpose an existing article for my newsletter. My audience is composed of *who is your audience*. The newsletter should be *you can add your details her such as the length of the newsletter – long, short, etc.*, have a *what tone should be used* tone and include a CTA at the end.

Also, provide me with *number* high-converting email subject lines that I can use for the newsletter at the end.

This is the existing article:””

This is an example of our input:

Also, provide me with 3 high-converting email subject lines that I can use for the newsletter at the end.

Do you have a designer on your team?

Great.

Let’s build infographics using your article without stressing your designer out with non-specific information when providing them with a guide on how to attack your infographic.

Here’s the prompt you can use:

I am a *what do you do for a living* and I need to create an infographic based off on an article I previously wrote.

The audience is composed of *who is your audience*.

Synthesize the article and provide me with a comprehensive plan for an infographic. Suggest a color scheme, design theme, formatting, and layout.

Provide visuals and highlight information from the article that I can use for each section in the infographic.

Did you know that ChatGPT can help you with scripts and video planning?

Yes, that future is now folks.

It’s not the best-looking script out there nor are the storyboards tight – they’re just descriptions – but they come in handy when repurposing content.

Now, we’ll create a more extensive guide on this in the future – this current prompt is our basic video prompt, but for now, you can use it:

I am a *what do you do for a living* and I need to create a tutorial video from an article I previously wrote.

The audience is composed of *who is your audience*.

Synthesize the article and provide me with a comprehensive plan for an engaging tutorial video for *platform*.
