Leads get cold.

It happens all the time.

But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t follow up with them.

Here’s the thing.

You’re not going to get everyone interested in what you offer.

And you have to take into consideration that the rest are either busy, missed your message, or forgot that you reached out to them in the first place.

That’s why we build a prompt that’s designed to follow up on your prospects.

Even the cold ones.

In today’s guide, we want to show you how to use the prompt to craft quick LinkedIn follow-up messages with ChatGPT.

However, we’re not just talking about single messages you can send out.

This prompt can build you a sequence, just in case they still don’t reach out to you after a couple of tries.

If you’re still figuring out how to reach out to prospects with your first message, please read this first:

LinkedIn Outreach Messages with ChatGPT in Seconds

(It will come in handy later!)

This prompt was inspired by our initial prompt – link provided in the introduction – on how to create quick outreach messages.

However, we soon realized that the follow-up process is as equally brutal as the first outreach message because there will be times when you will need to check on a prospect multiple times before they would want to get in the same boat as you.

That’s why we built a sequence.

With a sequence, you can space out follow-ups, make sure you have a steady stream of messages ready if they don’t respond, and create a mini “drip campaign” to get to your prospect.

The beauty of this prompt is that it also fully integrates with the outreach prompt.

You can use that for your first message and then take the inputs that you used with that particular prompt and use it on this one to top off your cadence with the prospect.

Both of these prompts used together gives you a lot of power in your outreach messaging.

(But you can still use any one of them independently from each other.)

The Prompt for Sequenced LinkedIn Follow Up Messages With ChatGPT

Here’s the prompt.

Generate a follow up sequence to continue conversations with my LinkedIn connections.

You’ve previously reached out to these connections leveraging my expertise as a *what do you do for a living*, expressing enthusiasm about connecting with professionals within *what does your prospect do for a living*.

Should be at least *how many* messages that I can send within a period of *how many weeks will the sequence last for* weeks and assume that the prospect did not reply to any messages I have sent ever and have not spoken yet.

Keep the messaging light and as short as possible. They also need to be non-sales-related and non-pushy. Here is the last message I sent out:

*Insert the last message that you sent to your prospect here*

Compared to our other prompts, we consider this to be a little more tame because of its length.

We start off with clear instructions on what we want ChatGPT to produce for us. Then we move on to a little context that deals with two main points, your industry and the industry of the person you are reaching out to.

The reason we didn’t add more details about both parties is that we wanted to keep the messaging tight and light.

We underscored the importance of it being non-sales related – nobody likes a sale being jammed in their faces.

Finally, we end with a section for you to place your last message so that ChatGPT can process it accordingly.

Now you can add a couple of modifications to this prompt such as the removal/addition of emojis, changing the tone, or adding more messages to the sequence.

The Output

For the output, we used a template of a digital marketer to power the script.

Since we previously wrote an article on how to create LinkedIn outreach messages, we used that prompt to generate the sample “last message” sent out. This way we can gauge how BAMF prompts can be used in sequence to bring in leads.

Generate a follow up sequence to continue conversations with my LinkedIn connections.

You’ve previously reached out to these connections leveraging my expertise as a digital marketing expert, expressing enthusiasm about connecting with professionals within theB2B SaaS sector.

Should be at least three messages that I can send within a period of 3 weeks and assume that the prospect did not reply to any messages I have sent ever and have not spoken yet.

Keep the messaging light and as short as possible. They also need to be non-sales-related and non-pushy. Here is the last message I sent out:

You can see the results are almost similar to a drip campaign and they do their best to book a meeting without sounding too pushy.

Takeaways

The first email, message, voicemail, or even text usually doesn’t cut it.

That’s something a lot of marketers have to understand.

Do you know what wins appointments and deals?

Following up.

That’s why we spent our time crafting this prompt, to make sure that marketers have a basis of generating follow-up messages for any occasion that they might need them for.

As always with all the prompts we share with you here.

You need to make sure that you add your own personalization and tweaks to truly “own” the prompt.

Why?

Because personalization is key to building rapport with your prospects.
